Quiet Monday

From the moment we wake up, there’s an all out war for our attention. You walk into your bathroom, turn on your favorite worship cd and it starts. You get in the car and the radio is on. You drive down I-40 and see the billboards. You come to a stop, still on I-40, and read the bumper stickers around you. You get out of your car and walk into your office. There’s a note on your desk. There’s a phone call to take. There’s a customer to help. There’s a meeting in 10 minutes. There’s about 200 e-mails from the weekend that you haven’t read yet. There’s a text message from a friend that needs you to help them move. There’s an Obama flyer on the bulletin board. There’s a McCain campaign worker wanting your vote. There’s a television with a stock ticker on it. It’s complete madness.

This week, make it a point to stop. I mean really, just stop. Don’t do anything. Be still

Be still, and know that I am God;
I will be exalted among the nations,
I will be exalted in the earth.”
– Psalm 46.10

Carve out time this week to calm your heart, calm your mind… and just know that God is in control.

Don’t miss this Sunday as we wrap up ineed2change. It’s really been a powerful, life-changing series. We look forward to seeing you this weekend!
